Kickoff & Golf Tournament
Every August, we start our giving campaign with a special Kickoff lunch meeting. Join us August 27th at the Plaza Restaurant. Must have reservations. Call the United Way office at (229) 228-0560.
On August 27, 2025, we will welcome Coach Jim Hughes, a 3-time State High School football Championship Coach. Many may remember how he led Thomasville High’s 1974 football team to a National Championship. Hughes has been inducted into 4 Sports Halls of Fame. His legacy lives on with the naming of the “Jim Hughes Field” at Veterans Memorial Stadium at Thomasville High.

History
The United Way of Thomas County first started as a “Community Chest” in 1946. Since that time, we have grown to serve our community in a tradition that has spanned more than 70 years.

Today, our United Way raises about $235,000 annually that is directly distributed to 18 member agencies. These agencies provide critical services for food, clothing, shelter, day care, school programs, safe environments for the abused, training programs for the disabled and disaster relief.
